Why does my FireStick keep restarting?
Your Firestick keeps turning off and on are mainly hardware or software bases. This can range from faulty parts or generic parts to the used up storage space and update requirements. Fortunately, there is a wide range of solutions you can try. However, if your Firestick is rebooting incessantly, you may need to go through several. Your FireStick is acting up may be based on more than one specific reason.
How to fix the FireStick Restarting Problem
Below are some methods to prevent your Firestick from repeatedly restarting.
Using Official Firestick Accessories
If you tend to use any USB cable is lying around instead of the “official” USB cable for your device. As a result, your Firestick may not work as it should. This is because the official USB adapter for the Firestick has a certain amount of power it provides to the device.
Use a Brand New USB Cable
Use a 2 Amp Power Adapter
Plug The Power Adapter Directly Into a Power Outlet
Many Firestick users plug their Firestick’s power cable into the USB port on the back of their TV. If your Firestick keeps restarting, plug your Firestick USB power cord directly into a power outlet.
Disconnect Any USB Extension Cables
Remove Other Devices Connected to Your TV’s HDMI Ports
Another HDMI device may be interfering with the streaming “signal” coming from your Firestick, resulting in Firestick’s keeps restarting problems. Yes – all TVs were not created equally. Some TVs don’t deal with multiple HDMI devices very well.
Unplug non-Firestick devices from your TV’s other HDMI ports
If this fixes the problem, then you know one of the other HDMI devices was causing the Firestick keeps restarting issue. So at this point, you plug the other HDMI devices in one by one to see which of them was causing the problem. Note: You should also replace your Firestick HDMI cable. A faulty HDMI cable can cause your Firestick to keep restarting.
Disable HDMI CEC
The HDMI CEC feature is a way for your TV to control your Firestick. So the HDMI CEC feature may be interfering with your Firestick performance. Therefore, you should disable HDMI CEC on your Firestick (in the Settings menu) to see if that fixes the Firestick keeps restarting problem. To disable HDMI CEC on Firestick;

Try a Different Firestick
Try a different Firestick to see if the same thing is happening. If the 2nd Firestick keeps restarting, likely, the problem is not with the Firestick, but with the power supplied to it.
Restart Your Firestick Using the Fire TV Remote
This is also known as a soft reset; you can reset your device using the Fire TV remote. This is an alternative to unplugging the power cord from your device. Follow the steps below to restart Firestick with the remote;
Press down (and hold down) the PLAY button and SELECT button at the same timeKeep holding them down until your screen displays a message
To do a HARD reset, follow these steps;
Press and hold down the SELECT button, the RIGHT button, BACK button, and REVERSE (aka “rewind”) buttonWait for Firestick to display a message / reset itself
It may feel counter-intuitive to combat Firestick keeps restarting issues by restarting your Firestick, but we’ve seen it work. Give it a shot!

Check and Change Faulty Adapter
A common cause of the Firestick rebooting issue is that your adapter is faulty. Check this by testing it on other Micro-USB devices. If it doesn’t charge them, your adapter is likely the problem. This issue can be fixed easily just by replacing the adapter for your FireStick.
Check if the HDMI Cable is Faulty
This issue has been known to happen other times due to a faulty HDMI cord. If you’re using HDMI connectivity, any issues can lead to inconvenient problems. To check if your connector is the problem, you can try using it with another device. If it doesn’t work, you’ll have to replace your HDMI cord.
Clear the Cache of Installed Apps
If the previous methods haven’t worked yet, a full cache is another common issue that causes the FireStick to have rebooting issues. However, your cache is a library of stored data and files, and clearing it will free up some performance space. To clear your cache on FireStick;
Navigate to your Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.Next, you’ll see a list of apps. To clear a cache, select an app.Once you select it, you’ll see the Clear Cache option.Repeat these steps for as many apps as you’d like, or even all of them to maximize performance.
Remove Extra Installed Applications
A lot of the time, extra installed applications can be eating up lots of memory and performance helpers in the background, even if you aren’t using them anymore. So, if your FireStick keeps rebooting, removing these apps can potentially fix the problem. This is similar to clearing the cache but goes the extra step. To remove apps on FireStick;
Navigate to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.Here, you’ll see the list of all your installed apps.Select the app you want to remove, and click Uninstall.
